**Principal Duties:**
+ Lift and terminal Productivity
+ Develop and implement strategies to increase crane lift productivity while ensuring safety and efficiency.
+ Monitor and analyze crane performance data to identify areas for improvement and drive data-backed decisions.
+ Audit and inspect crane operations daily to confirm that performance and safety expectations are met.
+ Work closely with terminal managers to optimize slot and platform utilization and minimize downtime.
+ Driver Dwell & Vendor Performance
+ Set aggressive targets to maintain driver dwell times.
+ Ensure draymen, vendors, and visitors adhere to posted speed limits and safe operating practices.
+ Collaborate with terminal staff and vendors to streamline processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and improve turnaround times.
+ Evaluate vendor performance and ensure equipment and track resources are maximized for productivity.
+ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Training Development
+ Develop and document comprehensive SOPs for both manual and automated crane operations, incorporating industry best practices.
+ Ensure SOPs are up-to-date, clearly communicated, and enforced across all terminals.
+ Lead training sessions and workshops for Norfolk Southern management and contractors, covering:
+ Safety protocols and best practices.
+ Operational procedures and efficiency techniques.
+ Proper use of automation and technology tools.
+ Work with key stakeholders to ensure adherence to SOPs in daily audits and inspections.
+ Safety & Housekeeping Standards
+ Ensure that all crane and equipment operations adhere to the highest safety standards.
+ Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
+ Technology & Data Utilization
+ Ensure the proper utilization of all technology tools (OPTCS, Inform, Intermodal Operations Dashboard, Tableau) to enhance operational performance.
+ Leverage real-time data from Intermodal Operations Center (IOC) to proactively manage crane assignments and track utilization.
+ Provide feedback on system enhancements and functionality improvements that align with business objectives.
+ Stakeholder Engagement & Business Alignment
+ Ensure exception management strategies are executed effectively and all internal and external partners are aligned with operational objectives.
+ Provide data-driven recommendations for capital investment decisions and operational improvements.
**Education:**
+ Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum Level: 2-3 years in terminal operations, crane optimization, or a related field.
+ Preferred Level: 4-6 years in intermodal logistics, crane operations, or process improvement.
**Technical Skills:**
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Word).
+ Experience with data analysis tools (TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau).
+ Familiarity with Optimized Terminal Control System (OPTCS), Inform, and Intermodal Operations Dashboard (IOD).

+ Strong leadership and decision-making abilities in high-pressure environments.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
+ Analytical and strategic thinking with the ability to develop creative solutions.
+ Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously.
**Work Conditions**
+ Environment: Outdoor/Field with exposure to operational elements.
+ Shift Work: Location-based, may vary by operational needs.
+ On-Call: Yes.
+ Weekend Work: Yes, as needed.
+ Travel: Required (10-15 days per month).
