Position Summary
The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) program is a paid internship giving nursing students the opportunity to work under the direction of the RN in providing care to patients. The Student Nurse Intern will have the opportunity to advance their knowledge and skills in providing patient care as a Student Nursing Associate. The Student Nurse Intern is also paired with an experienced RN to provide mentorship and shadowing opportunities. This internship will last 10-12 weeks.
The Student Nurse Intern is responsible for patient care activities, unit clerical duties, computerized order entry procedures, and other unit activities, as applicable. The SNA must be able to provide and understand the specific communication needs of patients, families, and visitors. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the SNI provides focused non-licensed clinical care for patients throughout the age continuum including basic nursing skills, etc., and environmental assistance to facilitate quality service and improve patient outcomes. The SNI will document and communicate with team members in a timely manner the patient's progress, needs and problems. Collaborates with Leadership in developing and implementing the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Systems, Mission, and Goals.
