The University of Miami has a great opportunity for an Asst. Director, Auxiliary Services to work at the Coral Gables Campus.

The Asst. Director, Auxiliary Services (A) provides day-to-day leadership for all auxiliary operations, which include facilities & project management, technical support & logistics and equipment inventory management, for auxiliary operations.  Coordinates the planning and execution of minor renovation and construction projects, including capital improvements and repair & maintenance work.  Manages contractual agreement with external contractors/vendors providing services and products to auxiliary operations.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

Oversees the operational and technical relationship with managed print services and cable/IPTV providers. Responds promptly to customer and vendor issues, ensuring timely resolution of service-related problems. Conducts regular audits of cable service locations and coordinates with telecom services for issue resolution. Manages the dining equipment asset management program, including inventory verification and procurement proposals. Works with the Supply Chain team on proposals for purchasing furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Makes recommendations on equipment repair or replacement, obtain budgetary approvals, and ensure proper asset management. Communicates changes in assets and coordinate surplus or relocation with relevant personnel. Ensures accurate reporting and management of facility-related work orders. Reviews Quality Assurance and Department of Health Inspection reports, addressing any actionable items in collaboration with the Dining QA Manager. Conducts regular visits to auxiliary operational areas to monitor conditions and gather feedback from contractors. Supports emergency management efforts as essential personnel. Ensures proper fiscal management of department resources and consults with the AVP or designee on budgetary proposals. Conducts market research, benchmarking, and data analysis to inform departmental decisions. Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Auxiliary Services. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Knowledge of business and management principles.Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
