Job Summary
Responsible for administration of employee benefit programs. Plans, develops and implements new and revised benefit programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Lexington Medical Center remains market competitive and is responsive to the company’s goals and strategic initiatives. Assures compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Oversees and manages Human Resources Support Services (HRSS) function.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Human Resources or related field.
Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Years of experience in a supervisory role.

Required Training: Identifiable strengths in the functional and legal components of employee benefits;
Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS.
Essential Functions Administer, direct and review employee health and welfare benefit programs including retirement plans, life insurance plans, health and dental insurance plans, disability plans, leave administration. Evaluates existing company benefits with those of other employers in the industry and community to ensure market competitive position. Plans, develops and participates in industry surveys. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by senior leadership. Develops census data and solicits insurance companies for quotes. Evaluates quotes and makes recommendations to leadership. Develops company cost information for new plans and makes recommendations to leadership concerning sharing of cost between employer and employee. Installs approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets, and other media for communicating new plans to employees. Conducts employee meetings and coordinates enrollment of employees. Conducts employee benefit seminars. Revises and reissues all benefit communication material as needed. Prepares and executes, with legal consultation, required benefit documentation. Assures company compliance with all local, state and federal regulations, such as IRS, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners and other regulatory agencies. Keeps abreast of new and proposed state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to leadership. Assures that existing and new benefit programs are adaptable to standardized computer and reporting systems. Develops benefit information and statistical and census data for actuaries, insurances carriers and management. Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable and courteous resolution. Maintains contact in person, and by phone, mail with insurance companies, employees and beneficiaries to ensure proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees. Prepares and monitors budget for benefit plans. Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff. Develops skills and abilities of those under his/her direction. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and oversee integrated Absence Management Program to include short-term disability, long-term disability, FMLA and Worker’s Compensation. Oversee administration of tuition assistance and scholarship programs Oversee administration of flexible spending accounts. Conducts presentations, as needed for LMC benefit programs including benefit highlights at Physician meetings, new hire orientations, etc. Partners with Recruitment and Administration to promote or ‘sell’ LMC benefit programs to VIP candidates. Oversees the administration of the HRSS team to ensure proper process procedures. Oversees administration of unemployment and subpoena processes Supports HRSS team in recommended workflow processing improvements and data integrity within Human Resources.
