Assurance and Advisory Manager (Hybrid)

Partners with Risk and Control leaders and team members in achieving the department’s objective of overseeing SOX compliance and assisting in implementing an effective controls framework and sound corporate governance at Bright Horizons (BH)

Responsibilities:

Sarbanes-Oxley Support

Support the business through Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance (including IPCs), and lead any changes, including technical change assessments, in financial areas impacting SOX compliance at BH;

Maintain and ensure up to date risks and controls data and framework, including management of the data management software – Workiva;

Assist in annual SOX planning activities as needed (e.g Risk Assessment-Accounts, Risk Assessment);

Perform SOX certifications (e.g controls and IPC) working with Business Process Owners;

Co-lead the projects of developing and updating policies and procedures for key SOX processes;

Advise the business on SOX remediation action plans;

Compliance Audit

Assist on or lead risk-based audits (from planning, developing audit programs, testing, to reporting stage) and identify design gaps and operating effectiveness.

Business and Financial Process

Develop policies, procedures and practices aimed at improving current methods and practices at BH to ensure efficiency and alignment with changes within the business, financial regulations and the market;

Assist in or lead projects aimed at developing, maintaining and/or updating corporate governance policies, processes and guides, where a need is identified for the business;

Provide support for software implementations in the business with impact on SOX processes and controls requirements; or overall governance.

Ad hoc

Assist in or lead investigations arising from instances/suspicions of fraud or theft

Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree - Required

Master's Degree - Preferred

5 years Internal Controls Experience - Required

Would relevant experience be considered in  lieu of applicable degree?       

Yes 

Minimum additional years of experience that would be considered in lieu of the applicable degree:

 5 years (due to Master Preferred)

Additional Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE

Qualified accountant (or equivalent) with 5+ years internal controls experience, ideally graduate caliber. (Qualification such as ACCA, CIA, CPA, etc. preferred

At least 3 years internal or external audit experience; either within top 10 or large corporate environment within industry.

Must have prior experience of performing risk based audit work.

Must have experience of auditing controls.

Experience of basic IT general controls.

KNOWLEDGE

Advanced knowledge of financial and operational internal controls.

Strong knowledge of assessing the assurance which can be provided by controls.

Strong knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements

Sound knowledge of corporate governance.

Sound knowledge of control frameworks.

Salary/Hourly Rate and Other Compensation Disclosures:

The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000 - 110,000/yr. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening.
