Job Description:

The University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking an Assistant Director & Lecturer for the UF Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education with duties comprised of leadership, teaching, research, and service.

Serving as a faculty member with the UF Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education with duties comprised of leadership, teaching, research, and service. Leadership duties will include managing the Center’s staff, daily operations, and grants and budgets; drafting annual reports; managing and implementing student programs and seminars; planning on- and off-campus events; overseeing and drafting the Center’s communications; spearheading the Center’s outreach; and assisting the Director of the Center, as needed. Teaching duties include teaching undergraduate courses, to include—but not limited to—“The American Idea” and “The Case for Conscience,” which involve exploring the beliefs, ideas, and values that shape certain concepts within government and/or society throughout history and discussing toleration, freedom of conscience, and liberty as foundational values in contemporary society. Remote work / telecommuting is permitted.  

 

Minimum Requirements:

Position requires a Master's degree in History, Philosophy, or a closely related field.
