Department Summary:
The Technical Capabilities Department (N923), within MITRE’s Intelligence Center, helps the government optimize U.S. investments in science and technology to build and strengthen our nation’s operational capabilities. The department consists of four mission-focused groups: Space Threat Intelligence (STI), Exploitation & Data Analysis (E&DA), Science & Technology Investments (S&T), and Adversary Technical Intelligence (ATI).
Roles & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be passionate about astrodynamics and orbitology with a desire to further employ orbit theories, adversary threat-based enumeration and analysis in Space/Counter Space and Intelligence operations. Specific duties will vary by project but will generally include a combination of research, design, analysis, and prototypes and proofs of concept development for active and passive intelligence operations across the electromagnetic spectrum and in cyberspace.
Basic Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Aerospace or related technical field.Fluent in one or more high-level languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Systems Tool Kit).Exposure to hands on systems development, architecture, modeling, simulation, lab, or related project work (professional, internships or education based).Experience in determining how space objects react to various configurations and scenarios to assess performance measures and conditions for technological analysis with orbitology, command and control (C2), precision timing, and radio frequency (RF) in tactics and techniques to perform cyber related forensics of devices and networks.Foundational knowledge of astrodynamics and orbitology to further employ orbit theories, adversary threat- based enumeration and analysis in Space/Counter Space operationsA desire to continually learn and master new technologiesPossess strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Work well in a collaborative team environment.This position may require an on-site presence at sponsor locations in the DC Metro area.This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-sitePreferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science, astrophysics/astronautics, or related discipline.Expertise in development, test, and employment of physics-based orbit theories and principles in space related missions and problem sets.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply astrodynamics engineering principles to complex challenges.Demonstrated interest in complex enterprise thinking. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across multiple organizations and engineering disciplines.Demonstrated ability to articulate complex topics to sponsors, MITRE leadership, and staff in an understandable manner.This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):
