Astronaut Rescue & Recovery Training Manager

Job Summary: Alluvionic is seeking an  Astronaut Rescue and Recovery Training Manager  onsite at an Air Force client facility on Patrick Space Force Base, FL. This full-time position supports the 1st Air Force (1 AF), Detachment 3 and serves as a liaison between United States Space Command, 1 AF, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Artemis Program, Commercial Crew Program (CCP), and Soyuz Program. Clearance Required:  Yes – Secret Clearance *This is an onsite position.*   Key Responsibilities: Rescue personnel to provide operational and tactical level inputs facilitating astronaut rescue and subsequent emergency on-scene medical care following either an Orion or CCP contingency land or water landing to recover the astronauts and the crew module at Orion nominal end-of-mission and, if necessary, rescue Orion astronauts in the event of a post-splashdown contingency. Education and Work Experience  Basic Qualifications: + 10 years of experience as a USAF Pararescue Specialist Air Force Specialty Code 1T251/1Z151 or other service equivalent. + Must possess expert knowledge of Guardian Angel Weapon System, Special Operations Forces, or other government agencies open ocean employment methods/theory including parachuting, SCUBA diving, amphibious vehicles, vertical lift and alternate insertion/extraction methods. + Must have prior training and certifications as a paramedic, special operations medic or independent duty medic/corpsman and maintain those qualifications. Must have knowledge of flight safety, parachuting and operational risk management responsibilities as they pertain to Personnel Recovery and/or Search and Rescue employment missions. + Must possess the ability to lead small teams, communicate orally and in writing and develop materials for presentation, with the ability to project voice to large groups in outdoor areas. + Obtain and maintain SCUBA open circuit qualification. + Maintain physical fitness to accomplish all training requirements involving surface swimming, SCUBA and associated watercraft. + Ability to ensure interagency crossflow of appropriate rescue information between NASA Programs and DoD to enhance standardization, integration, safety, and efficient mission execution + Ability to provide guidance regarding world-wide deployment of rescue personnel + Ability to develop plans for rescue and medical evacuation following a contingency land or water landing + Ability to accomplish advanced team functions to receive personnel and support equipment; provide command and control recommendations for postured alert rescue forces; and provide just-in-time medical and mission refresher at deployed locations + Ability to prepare and present briefings, papers, and presentations to senior leaders in the military and interagency organizations and interact with military, contractors, and interagency personnel to build teams and maintain good working relationships + Ability to work independently to plan and complete assignments on time, ensure products are thorough, logical, meet objectives, and are grammatically correct, analyze complex problems, and develop and articulate recommended plans and objectives that lead to resolution within existing policy or instruction guidance + Ability to conceptualize, develop, and present mission-specific training or orientation courses for military personnel + Ability to produce high quality products and provide high quality recommendations that are consistent with a fiscally constrained mission environment + Ability to work occasional 24/7 shift work, including weekends and holidays + BA or BS degree preferred Additional Qualifications: + Preferred: 15 years of experience as a USAF Pararescue Specialist Air Force Specialty Code 1T271/1Z171 or other service equivalent team member. + Preferred: Prior training or certifications as a static-line and military free-fall jumpmaster and knowledge of rescue jumpmaster procedures. + Preferred: Possess knowledge in how the ground forces commander manages, oversees and leads personnel recovery and/or search and rescue employment missions. + Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills + An ability to interact with military, contractors, and interagency personnel to build teams and maintain good working relationships Who We are: Alluvionic is a woman-owned, 8(a) certified solutions provider of project management and process improvement services.
