Astronaut Search & Rescue Aircraft Logistics Specialist

Job Summary: Alluvionic is seeking  an Astronaut Search and Rescue Aircraft Logistics Specialist onsite at an Air Force client facility on Patrick Space Force Base, FL. This full-time position supports the 1st Air Force (1 AF), Detachment 3 and serves as a liaison between United States Space Command, 1 AF, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Artemis Program, Commercial Crew Program (CCP), and Soyuz Program.  Clearance Required:  Yes – Secret Clearance *This is an onsite position.*   Key Responsibilities: Provide support to logistical efforts to employ search and rescue aviation assets to facilitate astronaut rescue following either an Artemis or CCP contingency land or water landing. Education and Work Experience  Basic Qualifications: + 10+ years of experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Survival or Personnel Recovery training and operations. + Previous experience as a HC/MC-130 or C-17 airdrop qualified instructor loadmaster. + Possess an expert knowledge of military airdrop instructions, tactics, techniques and procedures as well as aircraft capabilities, requirements and employment. + Qualified to perform Joint Airdrop Inspections in HC/MC-130 and/or C-17 aircraft. + Ability to collaborate with mission partners to develop documents, processes, courseware and plans to train aircrews on mission-unique astronaut search and rescue procedures in multiple environments. + Ability to collaborate with mission partners to determine interoperability of DoD rescue aircraft with air deployable rescue equipment associated with Artemis and CCP crew modules and associated astronaut personal survival equipment. + Ability to assist development, review and processing of Special Assignment Airlift Mission request to move personnel and equipment items for training and mission events. + Ability to assist development and refinement of airdrop bundles for advanced rescue craft pallets, wing boat pallets, door bundles and other deployable equipment items from fixed-wing assets. + Ability to develop and coordinate airdrop load plan requirements and associated documents for use in fixed-wing assets. + Ability to collaborate with aircrew flight equipment personnel to develop airdrop bundle build plans and relay aircraft specific requirements for bundle assemblage. + Ability to develop plans and procedures for deployment of rescue flares and smokes for use in fixed-wing assets. + Ability to assist development and refinement of the C-17 rescue concept of operations regarding all aspects of aircraft logistical pre-flight support and employment of air deployable equipment bundles as well as flares and smokes associated with the astronaut rescue mission. + Ability to assist development and coordination of required documents, tactics, techniques and procedures for Air Mobility Command approval for the C-17 astronaut rescue mission. + Ability to be prepared to travel to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and Joint Base Charleston in support of Rescue Equipment Package inspection and maintenance events. + Ability to facilitate training by assisting reception and bed-down efforts prior to, and during unit-led training activities. + Ability to monitor and update Special Assignment Airlift Mission requests during training, development test and exercise events to ensure necessary objectives are achieved. + Ability to be prepared to provide Joint Airdrop Inspections for equipment bundles and other support equipment items loaded into fixed-wing aircraft at home station and at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam or Joint Base Charleston. + Ability to provide command and control recommendations for postured alert rescue forces. + Ability to monitor and update Special Assignment Airlift Mission requests during mission execution to ensure necessary objectives are achieved. + Ability to be prepared to provide Joint Airdrop Inspections for equipment bundles and other support equipment items loaded into fixed-wing aircraft at home station and at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam or Joint Base Charleston. + Ability to work independently to plan and complete assignments on time, ensure products are thorough, logical, meet objectives, and are grammatically correct, analyze complex problems, and develop and articulate recommended plans and objectives that lead to resolution within existing policy or instruction guidance + Ability to produce high quality products and provide high quality recommendations that are consistent with a fiscally constrained mission environment + Ability to work occasional 24/7 shift work, including weekends and holidays Additional Qualifications: + Preferred: BA or BS degree + Preferred: Same as minimum qualifications but as an evaluator loadmaster. + Preferred: Experience with Guardian Angel Weapons System and/or special operations personnel airdrop procedures + Preferred: Previously served at the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency, Joint Search and Rescue Center, or Rescue Coordination Center. + Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills + An ability to interact with military, contractors, and interagency personnel to build teams and maintain good working relationships Who We are: Alluvionic is a woman-owned, 8(a) certified solutions provider of project management and process improvement services.
