ATC/GCA Specialist
Overview Serves as an Air Traffic Control Specialist for GCA operations and procedures with potential oversight of assigned ATC specialist. Operates fixed GCA facilities. Provide positive control for arriving rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. Responsible for supervising and supporting the safe operation, movement, and flight procedures of rotary wing aircraft in a training environment. Responsibilities Train developmental air traffic controllers through OJT training Organize traffic management plans to simultaneous provide positive control for aircraft within the traffic circuit, as well as ground movements and aircraft preparing to enter/exit assigned airspace. Develop training aids, reinforcement and remedial training, for use within a classroom setting. Compile flight data and record the information via logs, reports, and flight strips. Furnish pilot weather data. Formulates and issues air traffic control clearances, advisories, and control information. Briefs shift personnel on runway utilizations, airfield conditions and weather/ground activities. Provide directions to emergency landing fields for pilots traveling in inclement weather, or to pilots in emergency situations. Operates and maintains facility equipment at user level Analyzes air traffic to identify and resolve potential conflicts. Other duties as assigned and or directed by management. Qualifications Education: High school diploma required Graduate of US Military Government, or FAA Air Traffic Controller Course; or equivalent-required. Applicants must clearly indicate possession and date of their Air Traffic Control Specialist Certification (ATCS). Valid Certificates are required to be submitted with employment application. Control Tower Operations Certificate (CTO) – preferred. Experience: Minium of 3 years’ experience as a DOD or FAA Controller required, minimum of 5 years preferred. Independence: Works within Saudi Arabia GACA, ICAO, and Ministry of Saudi Arabia National Guard Air Traffic control rules, procedures and regulations with minimal supervision ATC experience within the last two years Experience within the last 2 years required. Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate (FAA Form 8500-9) Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation. Possess a valid U.S driver’s license and Passport. DD214 required for military experience. Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, background checks, etc. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a military maintenance unit. Strong understanding of Aviation Operations Management specific to fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
