Athletic Facilities Coordinator

Job Description

SUMMARY: 

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities, the Athletic Facilities Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting all athletic operations as it relates to facility management.  This position ensures that athletic facilities are well maintained, operational, and ready for use, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support to athletic operations as it relates to game operations and equipment.

Serve as primary on site representative for various external athletic facility usage requests.

Work with assigned facility personnel on the closing and securing of facilities.

Monitor security cameras as needed.

Perform simple repairs such as game goals, nets, rims, lane lines, hurdles, and mats.

Maintain/move Game Day equipment including crowd control barriers, cones, temporary fencing, field boards, and crowd netting.

Collaborate with other University departments as it relates to job duties (UPD, Facilities, Housekeeping).

Provide site supervision of various sports.

Liaison as point of contact between the Athletic Department, event staff and outside agencies.

Attend and participate in departmental, conference, and university-wide meetings related to duties and responsibilities.

Maintain accurate records and files, schedule repairs/maintenance as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

A minimum of five years of professional work experience in facility management at the collegiate or professional sports level or a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional work experience.

Game day operations management at the collegiate or professional level.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.

Ability to work with a diverse population.

Demonstrated ability to manage details.

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Flexible schedule and ability to work regular evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google platforms.

PREFERRED:

Spectator relations experience.

Knowledge of Division III NCAA Guidelines.

Experience working with event staff and outside agencies (security, maintenance or media).

Tournament level event management.

Experience with service industry.

*NOTE: This is a Civil Service position. As required by the State of New Jersey, in order to be certified to the position and attain permanent status in title, candidates are required to successfully serve a 4-Month Working Test Period.


SALARY RANGE: P18: $54,351.06 - $76,649.82 *NOTE: Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission's formula. Salaries for external candidates are determined up to step four, $61,783.98.
