Performs direct athletic training services to patients in accordance with generally accepted athletic training standards, State of Maryland Athletic Training Practice Act, code of ethics, and departmental procedures.Records patient evaluations, re-evaluations and care provided in the medical record, in accordance with departmental documentation standards.Participates in performance improvement activities and suggests areas for improvement to colleagues in a tactful and considerate manner. Proposes performance improvement topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve athletic training services.Assumes responsibility to resolve or report clinical and operational issues to department leadership for resolution, in order to assure high quality care, and efficient departmental operations.Demonstrates interdisciplinary, safe, patient-centered care and delivers excellent customer service.Company DescriptionTowson Sports Medicine/University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a full time certified athletic trainer in our sports medicine outreach setting. If you are not looking for full time then we will consider part time or PRN as well!
The primary placement for this position will be at a School. The athletic trainer will serve the middle and upper school student athletes participating the athletics program.
The athletic trainer will provide the following services to youth student athletes: evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, development and implementation of prevention programs, practice and game coverage. The qualified applicant will serve as a liaison between parents, athletes, coaches, administrators and their supervising team physicians from University of Maryland Towson Orthopaedic Associates. Furthermore, the athletic trainer will be responsible for the oversight and safeguarding of injury records and other protected health information, injury tracking, assorted monthly reports, supply purchasing and inventory, budget development and monitoring.
As a member of the Towson Sports Medicine clinical staff, applicant will be requred to attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and provide other contractual athletic training services assigned by manager.
