The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing athletic training services in a high school setting. Athletic training services will also be provided to outreach, schools, athletic programs, community events and individuals as needed. The incumbent will be responsible to perform marketing functions for the Sports Medicine area and will assist management and physicians in identifying current and future needs.
Essential Job Functions
• Promotes and markets Billings Clinic Sports Medicine Center services within the service region.
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with current or potential clients, develops data on each, keeps informed on their requirements and provides information on new or enhanced services.
• Ascertains current and future needs of existing customers to ensure satisfaction with current services. Works collaboratively with Sports Medicine Center staff to resolve issues or concerns. Provides feedback and recommendations to Manager and physicians.
• Provides athletic training services to schools, athletic programs, community events and individuals.
• Would only be performed if within the scope of practice of an individual’s certification Recognizes and evaluates athletic injuries and determines appropriate emergency care for the injured athlete; determines proper treatment and/or reconditioning programs for injured athletes within established guidelines.
• Would only be performed if within the scope of practice of an individual’s certification Maintains a record system for all athletic injuries and treatments.
• Assists as necessary in the Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center, including the orthopedics providers’ office and Rehabilitation Department
• Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or equivalent
Preferred Graduate Degree Master's degree in Athletic Training or equivalent preferred
Certifications and Licenses
Montana Board of Athletic Trainers Licensure At hire
Current Montana drivers license and the ability to be insured to operate Billings Clinic vehicles At hire
CPR/ACLS/PALS
