02101 Athletic Trainer STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description 3.31.2017The athletic trainer is the liaison between the patient and/or parents, the medical doctors or their support staffs, the medical assistant, athletes, coaches and contracted outreach community. Prevention of Athletic Injuries: Design and Implement Prevention programs. Job Knowledge: Understanding of job duties, know how in performing assigned tasks. Ambition/Initiative: Willingness to put forth effort in starting an activity, contribute to new ideas or seek improvement. This position is based directly with Summertown High School (SHS).

Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.Develops conditioning programs for injured and noninjured athletes.

□ Graduate of a Program in Discipline, Bachelor's Degree RequiredMinimum Education
□ Master's degree preferredRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Required Skills
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS) □ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) □Other__________________________ □Other_________________________
Must be NATA BOC Certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring licensing certification or registration From the state of Tennessee.Required Skills
Licenses: Current and active Athletic Trainer license in the state of Tennessee.
