Summary:
Work with Orthopedic physicians, Head Athletic Trainer, and Operations Director in providing athletic training coverage as requested, provide clinic duties in Orthopedic practice, and design/educate patients on home exercise programs under guidance of physicians. Must have the ability to travel between school affiliates and clinics.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferredAt least 3 years experience working in a physician practice and secondary school preferredApplied Knowledge: Athletic trainers must have knowledge about a large range of medical problems. Assessment and evaluation skills and working with other healthcare professionals will be neededDecision-Making Skills: Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play decisions per state licensure guidelines.Attention to Detail: Should be thorough and detailed in injury tracking and documentationInterpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in high stress/pressure situationsMust have the ability to organize prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.
