Masters Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Director or designee, the Athletic Trainer assumes responsibility for all training responsibilities related to Intercollegiate Athletics including the training of student interns and other related personnel. Responsibilities include: 1. Provide athletic training services, to include screening injury evaluation, treatment, and preventive measures, to Eastern students involved in Intercollegiate Athletics. 2. Provide injury evaluation, initial treatment, and medical referral as necessary to visiting teams involved in ECSU intercollegiate athletic events and to individuals injured while using ECSU facilities. 3. Provide training advice to Eastern students, faculty and staff upon request. 4. Provide recruitment, training, and supervision of student trainers and other related personnel. 5. Assist in establishing and enforcing training room policies and procedures. 6. Provide therapy and rehabilitation for injured athletes and informing coaches of the playing status of injured players. 7. Assist coaches (when requested) in prescribing conditioning and training programs for athletes. 8. Assist in maintaining lines of communication with support services (hospital, physicians, University Health Center) as needed. 9. Refer athletes, when necessary, to proper support services through the University Health Center. 10. Assist in maintaining inventory of training supplies and insuring efficient and appropriate budgeting and ordering of supplies. 11. Provide information to athletes and coaches regarding medical insurance coverage and coordinating insurance claims with the University Health Center. 12. Assist in maintaining records and files of all reportable injuries and treatments. 13. Assist in establishing and evaluating training policies and insuring the completion of physical examinations for all athletes. 14. Provide athletic training coverage at practices and games in as thorough a manner as is practical. 15. Assist with the Athletic Program's Drug and Alcohol Testing and Education Program. 16. Perform other duties and responsibilities in addition to those enumerated above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.QUALIFICATIONS: NATABOC Certified athletic trainer with a minimum of five years of experience, master's degree in appropriate field, experience in teaching related courses at the collegiate level, experience in clinical rehabilitation, computer skills, and CPR/AED instructor certification all required.
