Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. McLeod Sports Medicine

McLeod Sports Medicine has an opening for a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer for local middle schools (no teaching duties). The Athletic Trainer is responsible for daily practice and game coverage including management of injuries, organization and administration, implementation of sport performance programming, and record keeping. The Athletic trainer acts as a liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer will have the opportunity to provide outreach services to club, city recreation, or collegiate teams as well.
The Athletic Trainer will be part of the McLeod sports medicine team following policies and procedures and working under the direction of our medical director. Athletic Trainer must be able to work in a team setting and work in a progressive atmosphere.
Department Description
McLeod Sports Medicine is housed in an eight-year old 25,000 square foot outpatient rehabilitation facility. Our orthopedic and sports therapy services are available for individuals with acute or chronic orthopedic and sports-related conditions. We employ seven Physical Therapists, four Physical Therapy Assistants, and 31 Certified Athletic Trainers. Our athletic training outreach program works with public and private high schools, local colleges, local parks and recreation programs, summer collegiate baseball league, and more. Additionally, we have an active year-long sports performance program.
