Under general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletics Director, and under the daily lead direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, the Athletic Trainer I follows well established guidelines and procedures in providing the full range of clinical athletic training functions for student-athletes during training and competition, in accordance with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) guidelines. The Athletic Trainer I also provides injury prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation for athletic injuries.

In addition, the position will receive technical direction from the Director of the Student Health Services on medical charting, peer review, privileging/credentialing, medical releases, and HIPAA compliance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology or related field of study or combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Course work must include completion of the Board of Certification (BOC) curriculum requirements.

LICENSES – Possess and maintain National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) certification for Athletic Trainer. Possession of a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain by date of hire. CPR/AED certified. Please attach these documents to your application.
