Position Description
The Northside Athletic Training Navigator is the central contact for providers, athletic trainers, sports medicine staff, patients and families providing connectivity and professional judgement to ensure appointments, procedures, and treatments are scheduled in a timely and pertinent manner. The Athletic Training Navigator is an integral piece providing specialized, targeted care to support and enhance Northside Hospital’s Sports Medicine services provided to student athletes throughout the system’s school and community outreach footprint, while also providing connectivity to other service lines when applicable.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as point person for multidisciplinary evaluation process to include patient scheduling, third party communications, and internal communications Ensures complete and accurate patient registration, including demographics and current insurance information Consistently exhibits good customer service skills in all interactions with staff, patients and families, displaying courtesy and sensitivity. Ensures release of information is in compliance with HIPAA/HITECH and other regulatory requirements. Acts as a liaison for Northside Hospital services offered. Demonstrates willingness to improve services by problem solving and offering conflict resolution. Maintains positive working relationships with all physicians, Athletic Trainers, Stakeholders, and Sports Medicine Management Works with health care team and the clinical and administrative leadership to ensure smooth, efficient and timely internal processes for treatment initiation and appropriateness of treatment plan. Assumes responsibility for completing all assignments and tasks in a timely and cost efficient manner Complies with all NATA best practices
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Athletic Training, Health, Physical Education or Exercise Science Current Certification by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification, Inc. Current Athletic Training State of Georgia License Ability to manage competing demands Ability to record and deliver information to explain procedures, to follow verbal and written instructions. Candidate must possess strong leadership, people and demonstrated interpersonal skills; excellent time management; organization and communication skills both oral and written.Service Area Overview
