The Attorney role functions as a staff in-house counsel, reporting to the General Counsel and handling contract reviews, legal matters, and projects. This individual must work collaboratively with all business units across Jockey. In this role the individual will ensure legal compliance across the business units, be part of the litigation strategy team and work with business leaders on their contract needs. In addition, this individual will help develop risk management strategies. Specific duties will include:
Serve as primary point of contact and provide guidance for business units on contractual matters. Draft and administer various contracts, leases, operating agreements, employment agreements, nondisclosure agreements, distribution agreements, sales/purchasing agreements, consulting agreements, etc. Oversee contract management and administration across the company. Provide opinions and legal guidance on compliance related matters, as assigned Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of applicable privacy and security solutions. Provide oversight regarding legal, compliance and risk management activities. Create, modify, update, and implement the company’s policies and procedures meant to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Conduct research, anticipate and guard the company against legal risks. Develop risk management strategies. Conduct periodic tests, audits, or inspections of organizational processes and contracts. Interpret findings, report findings to management, and recommend and implement corrective action as needed. Work in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner at all times. Respect and maintain confidentiality. Provide counseling, advice, and day-to-day support of certain Jockey business and operating units objectives. Assume lead on certain company initiatives of significant size and complexity. Participate in a collaborative manner in globally based cross-functional business teams to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex business issues. Manage, optimize, and further develop legal operational structures, processes, and templates. Assist in managing outside counsel.The Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. 3+ years’ applicable experience preferred. Background in contract law and real property law preferred. Current license to practice law. Analytical ability and strong attention to detail. Strong time management skills. Superior negotiation and communication skills. Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities. Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision. Positive attitude and strong analytical and problem-resolution skills; exceptional business judgement, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with and gain the respect of leaders at all levels. Ability and willingness to learn legal or business concepts not initially familiar with strongly preferred; must be a self-starter and strong project leader in a fast-paced environment; must also like working on complex projects with multi-functional teams and be able to drive results.
