Description
A government entity in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Transactional Attorney to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements and will possess a strong understanding of procurement processes within government or public sector entities. This is a unique opportunity to serve a vital mission while leveraging your legal expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Draft, review, manage, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to vendor agreements, service contracts, and licensing agreements.
+ Advise on legal and regulatory compliance matters related to government procurement policies and procedures.
+ Provide legal support in procurement and sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with applicable government standards and regulations.
+ Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring contract terms protect the best interests of the organization.
+ Assist with public policy initiatives, contract management systems, and process improvement for compliance and efficiency.
+ Provide guidance and legal counsel to internal stakeholders, including procurement teams, ensuring understanding and adherence to contractual obligations.
+ Act as a liaison with external counsel or vendors when needed to protect the organization’s interests during negotiations or disputes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
+ Licensed and in good standing with a state bar association (Georgia preferred, but not required.)
+ 5+ years of experience in transactional law with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
+ Hands-on experience with procurement processes in a government or public sector setting is highly preferred.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound strategic advice to stakeholders.
