Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the legal industry, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. The role is for an Attorney/Lawyer who will primarily handle civil litigation cases, civil law matters, and defense litigation. The role is office-based and will be part of a small to medium-sized team. Responsibilities: • Handle a variety of general practice and litigation cases. • Utilize civil litigation experience to represent clients effectively in court. • Apply knowledge of civil law in advising and representing clients. • Engage in defense litigation, protecting the interests of our clients. • Participate in training sessions to enhance legal knowledge and skills. • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals in a small to medium-sized office. • Maintain open communication with clients, providing updates and information as needed. • Ensure all legal documents and procedures are fully compliant with applicable laws. • Contribute to the development of legal strategies for complex cases. • Participate in team meetings and discussions, providing valuable insights and suggestions. Requirements • Possession of a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school • Must be admitted to the state bar or eligible for admission if not currently admitted • At least one year of experience in a legal environment • Proven experience in civil litigation • Proficient in civil law and defense litigation • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and presentation abilities • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information • Proficient in the use of legal research software and other relevant computer applications • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
