Description We are seeking an Attorney/Lawyer based in Houston, Texas. As part of our legal team, you will work on a docket of condemnation cases, utilizing your litigation skills and knowledge of real estate terms. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity and is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities: • Oversee a docket of condemnation cases in a time-sensitive manner. • Apply knowledge of eminent domain in case management and resolution. • Ensure all legal documentation and proceedings adhere to strict standards of accuracy and detail. • Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple case files simultaneously. • Use familiarity with real estate terms in the interpretation and execution of legal documents. • Contribute 3-6 years of prior experience in a legal role to the team. • Engage in the litigation process, preparing for and representing clients in court as necessary. • Assist with research and preparation of legal arguments and briefs. • Ensure all case management activities are compliant with legal regulations. • Address customer inquiries, providing clear and comprehensive responses. Requirements • Possession of a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school • Active member of the state bar in good standing • Proven experience in a legal firm or corporate legal department • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of Condemnation and Litigation • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Superior negotiation and presentation abilities • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • High level of professional ethics and integrity • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure • Proficiency in legal research tools and software • Commitment to staying updated with the latest laws and legal trends.
