Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in Chicago, Illinois. As an integral part of our team, you will be involved in various legal activities including drafting motions, interacting with clients, making court appearances, and focusing on family law. Responsibilities: • Drafting legal motions for various cases, ensuring precision and comprehension. • Engaging with clients to discuss case details, strategies, and updates. • Representing clients in court, presenting evidence, and arguing on their behalf. • Specializing in family law, providing counsel and support to clients dealing with family-related legal issues. • Managing legal documents efficiently, ensuring they are properly filed and updated. • Conducting briefings for legal teams, discussing case progress and strategies. • Participating in civil litigation cases, providing expert legal advice, and representing clients. • Ensuring all legal activities adhere to state regulations and laws. • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current laws and regulations within the legal field. • Leveraging skills in document management to ensure efficient handling of client files. Requirements • Must hold a law degree from an accredited law school. • Must be a member in good standing of the bar in the state where the job is located. • Prior experience in the practice of law, preferably with a focus on civil litigation and family law. • Demonstrated ability to manage and organize large volumes of documents. • Proficient in drafting and filing legal briefs. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client counseling and courtroom representation. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • High level of professional ethics and integrity. • Proficient with legal research software and tools. • Familiarity with current laws, regulations, and best practices in the field. • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. • Ability to multitask and manage numerous matters simultaneously under deadline pressure. • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion. • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
