Description A national law firm with offices in New York, California and New Jersey seeks a medical malpractice and general liability defense associate. Candidate must possess a JD from an accredited law school, and be admitted to practice in New York. Excellent legal writing and communications skills are a must, and candidates with civil litigation experience and legal project management are preferred.
Responsibilities include representing clients in a wide range of medical malpractice and general liability insurance defense claims from beginning to end, including case management, legal research and document drafting, court appearances, depositions, client management and communications, and all discovery matters. Experience with all aspects of these essentials is highly preferred. Prior experience in this specific field of law is also highly preferred.
This firm has been providing legal services and solutions to corporations, entrepreneurs, growing businesses and successful companies for over 30 years in the practice areas of litigation, corporate law, tax, commercial real estate and land use, intellectual property, life sciences, labor and employment, commercial and real property finance, trusts and estates, not-for-profit law, professional liability defense and healthcare and general liability defense.
The firm offers health and dental insurance, a flexible hybrid schedule, 401k benefits, and origination credit where applicable. Requirements • Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the state bar is required
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the legal field is necessary
• Demonstrated experience in Medical Malpractice and Civil Litigation is strongly preferred
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills are essential
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents is required
• Must demonstrate strong ethical standards and integrity
• Should be able to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Advanced skills in problem-solving and critical thinking are necessary
• Must be able to maintain client confidentiality at all times
• Proficiency in using legal software for case management is a plus
• Must be committed to continuous learning and professional development.
