Attorney/Lawyer
Description We are in search of an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our non-profit team located in ITASCA, Illinois. This role involves handling a wide array of contracts, ensuring alignment with our organization's mission and standards. You will work closely with the General Counsel, providing valuable input on contract negotiations and reviews. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Evaluate a broad range of contracts such as vendor contracts, service agreements, customer contracts, IT, procurement, and product development agreements. • Identify and address terms unfavorable to the organization in contracts, ensuring compliance with our policies and legal standards. • Provide strategic recommendations on significant contractual risks/issues to the General Counsel and leadership. • Draft, review, and update contracts using both provided templates and third-party agreements, verifying accuracy and alignment with organizational goals. • Handle high-value contracts, including those related to IT, intellectual property, product development, hospitality, and event planning for large conventions. • Manage fluctuating workloads, adapting to peak seasons. • Facilitate smooth communication and negotiation processes with vendors and clients. Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Attorney or Lawyer, preferably in the non-profit sector. • Proficiency in using 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and Case Management Software is required. • Experience with Conveyancer and Document Management is a must. • The candidate should have a proven track record in Briefing and Civil Litigation. • Experience in Claim Administration and Complaint Handling is essential. • Knowledge of Consumer Electronics and Vendor Agreements is highly desirable. • A law degree from an accredited law school and bar admission in the state of practice is mandatory. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. • The candidate should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • A commitment to public service and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment is crucial.
