Description **Located in Kew Garden Hills, NY** Our client, a boutique law firm located in the Kew Garden Hills area of Queens, is seeking an experienced Estate / Elder Law Attorney to join its small, vibrant practice. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of Elder Law and Estate Planning experience with exposure to Medicaid Contested Estates. Firm provides a collegial atmosphere, paid time off, and free parking! Responsibilities: + Provide expert legal counsel to clients concerning estate planning, probate issues, preparing wills, trusts, and other related legal documents. + Specialize in Medicaid procedures and rules to assist clients in preserving their assets while qualifying for Medicaid. + Represent clients in court in matters involving contested wills, guardianships, or probate processes. + Conduct informative client meetings and develop strategies regarding Medicaid and estate planning. + Keep up to date with legislation and regulatory changes pertaining to elder law and Medicaid. + Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of professionals, such as social workers, accountants, and other attorneys. Requirements Requirements: + Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and barred in New York + 2+ years of experience as an Elder Law / Estate Administration with a particular emphasis on Medicaid planning. + Previous proven experience in contested estates is preferred. + Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. + Detail-oriented with a strong sense of commitment and ability to work independently and as a part of the team. + Strong knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to estates, trusts, and elder law.
