Attorney/Lawyer
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in Columbia, Maryland. This role operates within the real estate industry, with a specific focus on complex commercial properties. The successful candidate will be tasked with reviewing title searches, resolving title and development issues, and preparing and issuing title commitments and policies. This role operates primarily from a hybrid workplace. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive reviews of title searches for complex commercial properties. • Identify and resolve any issues related to title and development. • Engage in correspondence with various County officials to resolve and complete road and alley closures, PILOT Agreements, and zoning issues. • Prepare and issue title commitments and policies for both owners and lenders in multi-tiered real estate financing transactions. • Determine the applicability of owner and lender endorsements. • Prepare complex commercial settlement statements with multiple sources of real estate financing. • Prepare necessary seller and buyer title company documents. • Conduct closings and prepare documents for recording. • Handle transaction types including Low Income Housing Tax Credit Deals, State Housing Authority financing and bond offerings, and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) deals with the US Department of HUD. Requirements • A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school is required. • Admission to the Maryland Bar. • At least 1 year of experience in the legal field is needed. • Demonstrated experience in Real Estate Law is essential. • Proficiency in handling Real Estate - Title matters is required. • Experience in dealing with Real Estate - Commercial cases is necessary. • Excellent negotiation and communication skills are needed. • Proficiency in legal research and writing is required. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. • The ability to maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment is needed. • Must demonstrate a high degree of detail orientation and integrity. • Proficiency in the use of legal software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
