Attorney/Lawyer
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in the legal industry, situated in Houston, Texas. As an Attorney/Lawyer, you will primarily handle various aspects of litigation, engage with sophisticated clients, and manage some administrative tasks. Responsibilities: • Oversee and handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery and trial proceedings. • Draft and review legal documents such as notices, discovery, affidavits, and subpoenas, and prepare trial exhibits. • Conduct factual investigations and analyze file data to support cases. • Maintain regular contact with clients, court personnel, counsel, and other relevant parties, ensuring effective communication. • Prepare deposition summaries for use in mediation and trial. • Organize and maintain electronic and hardcopy case files according to firm procedures. • Log case time and expense billing for case files. • Provide monthly case updates to supervising attorneys. • Stay updated with the latest developments and CLE requirements through seminars, workshops, and detail-oriented affiliations. • Navigate e-filing procedures efficiently. • Exhibit superior problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision while exercising sound and independent judgment. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Law is essential. • Must have passed the Bar exam in the respective state. • Proven experience as an attorney/lawyer, preferably in litigation. • Comprehensive knowledge of litigation procedures, including defense strategies. • Proficiency in filing litigation documents and handling litigation-related tasks. • Extensive experience in defense litigation is highly desirable. • Ability to handle discovery requests and responses efficiently. • Proven track record in managing a diverse caseload. • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Proficiency in legal research databases and document management systems.
