Description We are offering an engaging opportunity for an Attorney with a prominent firm in the Grand Rapids area. The chosen candidate will be involved in various tasks including handling insurance defense litigation, civil litigation, and other related responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Represent clients in court proceedings focusing on insurance defense litigation and personal injury cases • Conduct thorough legal research to support client cases • Prepare and draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs • Interact with clients to provide legal advice and updates on case progress • Collaborate with legal staff to prepare for trials and hearings • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents • Engage in negotiations to resolve disputes and avoid court proceedings when possible • Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses • Conduct settlement negotiations to reach resolutions efficiently and favorably for clients. Requirements • Applicant must hold a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role • Should have extensive experience in Insurance Defense Litigation • Demonstrable knowledge of Insurance Defense is a requirement • Must have strong expertise in Civil Litigation • Active membership in the state bar is required • Proven track record of representing clients in court or before government agencies • Ability to interpret and understand laws and regulations • Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes outside of court • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrable ability to maintain client confidentiality and trust • Must be detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite • Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
