Join Ecolab as an Attorney, providing legal counsel and services to Ecolab's growth in its Institutional & Specialty, Industrial, Healthcare and Life Sciences Groups to protect and advance the company's competitive position and shareholder value through proactive, cost effective and value-added legal services in the role's specialized areas of law.
The number and complexity of laws and regulations affecting our management and operations require competent, responsive legal advice and services so that corporate objectives are fulfilled. The person in this role will provide management with accurate, responsive and practical legal advice and guidance, with alternate solutions where possible, which meet the company's business objectives and policies; to recommend such measures as will minimize the occurrence of legal problems; to resolve legal disputes with a minimum of cost and loss of management time; and to definitively advise management if a course of business conduct will clearly violate applicable law or corporate policy. This position has a significant role in the shaping of company transactions and conforming them to applicable legal requirements. The position will require the development of credible working relationships with colleagues globally, executives in Naperville and Ecolab’s headquarters in St. Paul, MN.
This position will be located at Ecolab’s office in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The successful candidate will be working regularly with other attorneys, paralegals and legal professionals throughout the global Ecolab organization in support of business activity. This position may require occasional travel as necessary.
Main Responsibilities
Commercial Transactions and ContractsReview, negotiate and draft a variety of commercial/business contracts and transactions, including product sales agreements, services agreements, master services agreements, purchasing contracts, licensing agreements, equipment lease agreements, joint development agreements, distributor and agency agreements, confidentiality agreements, consortium agreements, manufacturing and tolling agreements and other commercial contracts involving commitments between the Company and its global customers, suppliers and other parties.The position will work with other Law Department attorneys, paralegals and other professionals located in Ecolab’s offices globally.This position will primarily support Ecolab sales activity across Ecolab’s business groups, sectors and business divisions.Basic Qualifications
Law degree or equivalent from an accredited university3-5 years of legal experience in commercial transactions preferably in the chemical industryExcellent verbal and written communication skills including English and Spanish language fluency.Ability to prepare well-written correspondence, memoranda, contracts, articles, manuals and critiquesAbility to effectively plan and manage a heavy workload meeting tight time constraintsPreferred Qualifications
