Your New Role…

The Data Analyst Intern role sits within the Intelligence & Analytics pillar of the CNNIC Audiences & Data team. The CNNIC Audiences & Data team sits at the heart of the CNNIC business ensuring that data-driven insights underpin our decision making, campaign performance as well as the commercial strategy of CNN International.

The core purpose of the Intelligence and Analytics team is to bridge the gap between our data & analytics service offering and ad sales strategy & digital operations specialties of CNNIC. Delivering on our Audience & Data vision requires:

Putting data at the heart of the conversation focused on the measures that matter; so we are not arguing over opinions or gut feel. Organising ourselves for success through consistency, centralisation and collaboration to turn insights into change & actionCreating a data discipline that allows us to be better, smarter and more efficient with what we do with data & insights

The data analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of ongoing reporting and analytics & insights projects as well as work to develop a carbon calculator to measure the carbon footprint of our campaigns. The role requires the candidate to conduct research, pull data, generate reports within the template and mine the data for insights.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Collaborate with the VP of Audiences & Data and the Sustainability taskforce to develop an approach to measuring our carbon footprintSupport the build and design of our Data Platform with LookerDeliver ongoing reports to the businessSupport in the build and development analytical projectsWork with the Intelligence & Analytics manager to determine the best means of communicating trends and insights to the CNNIC Business

Specific Tasks Include…

Design of the CNNIC Data Platform

Support the delivery of automated dashboard reports to address key business questions with the support of Audience Insights, Product Innovation and Turner DV&I teams. Validate & analyse the data based on the high level requirements and business rules.

Analytical Reporting

Interpret and manipulate of large volumes of data to provide actionable insights to the business in a user friendly way. This will require understanding the business needs, the data structure of the various inputs to determine the most relevant output – from PowerPoint to Excel to PowerBI to Looker. Provide regular analytics reporting and ad hoc data analysis sales and strategy. Advise and support strategic planning on day to day management of a wide range of business analysis and operational management requests.

Qualifications & Experience…

You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2024.  A willingness to learn new tools, data analysis techniques and applied statisticsQuantitative skills and the ability to roll up sleeves and dig into the numbersCollaborative team building and communication skills, and ability to ask questions.Strong attention to detail, and be able to quality check their own work to ensure that data anomalies/mistakes are caught prior to delivery of the analysis to the client teams.Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a high standard of quality.Hands on, problem solving abilities – “can do” approach.Passionate about data, but more specifically love the way data can be used to find insight and tell stories.Understanding of research concepts and survey methodologies.Programming and coding language skills using R, Python, etc. is a bonus.Knowledge of digital media buying and delivery (process, tagging, latest developments, formats) would be beneficial.Working knowledge of digital performance platforms like Abode, Quantcast, ComScore, DFP, Freewheel, Moat would be beneficial.

The Internship... 

Salary: £28,000 Contract Length: 10-12 months Start Date: Likely to be 8th September 2024 You will gain hands-on experience working on business-critical projects.   You will have access to personal and professional development courses, executive speakers’ series, special screenings and more.   You will be part of our Early Talent network of over 100 interns & apprentices, meaning you will have an important support network of other students, graduates and apprentices and plenty of opportunities to socialise!

Stage 1: Submit your CV as soon as possible (we will close adverts when we have enough applications).  Stage 2: For eligible candidates, you will be invited to complete a written questionnaire in HireVue.  Stage 3: Pre-recorded video interviews via HireVue will be sent out, to be completed in April.  Stage 4: Assessment Centres & Interviews will take place May-June.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
