Description: Job Summary:
Hearing Aids: Provide patient instruction on use, care, and maintenance. Explain purchase and service agreements. Perform hearing aid services including troubleshooting, in-house repair and maintenance, and electroacoustic analysis.Assist with Diagnostic Evaluations: Document presenting complaint/history of presenting illness, administer patient forms. Assist with pediatric hearing evaluation and newborn hearing screening. Provide patient instructions, electrode placement, removal, and cleanup for Electrophysiological testing.Product Handling: Responsible for shipping/receiving/ordering and inventory of hearing aid devices, and accessories. Interface with vendors as directed/needed. Maintain inventory database (Auris). Contact patients as needed/directed. Prepare patient blue box, including appropriate forms, documentation, and products. Scan forms to EPIC as needed.Daily Clinical Support Duties: Provides telephone consultation to patients. Uses departmental guidelines to triage and determine appointing needs including priority of patient care regarding urgent, emergent and general Audiology needs both on the phone and in person. Document and complete retail purchase of hearing aids, accessories and assistive devices using QBE and iPay.Equipment and Supply Maintenance: Maintain equipment inventory and calibration schedule and records. Clean instruments, Audiology lab and patient care areas. Maintain adequate supply of diagnostic and hearing aid related supplies. Stock and prep patient care areas. Basic Qualifications: Experience Education
Associates degree OR a minimum two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED) is required. License, Certification, Registration N/A Additional Requirements:
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.Ability to understand technical information.Comfortable working with small electronic devices (hearing aids) and ability to work with small parts.Computer experience in a MS Windows environment.Keyboarding skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Customer service skills for both internal and external cutomers.Strong attention to detail.Strong communication skills.Ability to explain technical information in a manner that is understandable to patients.Communicate effectively with the hearing impaired population.Experience working with hearing aids.Two (2) years of experience working with hearing aid patients and products preferred.Experience working in an audiology practice.Bachelors degree preferred.
Provide technical and patient care support to the Audiology doctors as a member of the Audiology/Hear Center team. Assist in performing evaluation tests and specified procedures.
