Degree Audit Analyst 

Location: Charlottesville, VA 
Hiring Range: $85,000 - $95,000 (commensurate with experience)

The Office of the University Registrar (UREG) at the University of Virginia seeks a Degree Audit Analyst to support the implementation and maintenance of Stellic, a degree audit tool used for tracking academic progress, course planning, and advising. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of academic records and degree requirements across 170+ undergraduate programs. The Degree Audit Analyst will assess and redesign existing business processes related to academic records, contribute to the smooth operation of academic record processes in UREG and the schools, and implement related process improvements in the degree audit tool.

Develop and utilize technical expertise to configure and maintain degree audits in Stellic to accurately reflect degree requirements for undergraduate and graduate programs. 

Collaborate with academic departments to ensure degree requirements are reflected correctly. 

Assess and redesign existing business processes related to degree progress and completion and academic structure.   

Provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting for the degree audit tool and academic requirement processes. 

Perform regular data audits and quality checks to maintain data integrity. 

Support the degree conferral process by verifying degree completion and supporting enrollment certification efforts, including addressing discrepancies. 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in degree audit software or equivalent technical experience in higher education. 

Strong technical expertise in enterprise applications (e.g., Stellic, SIS) and the ability to analyze, map, and integrate data systems. 

Deep intellectual curiosity and desire to understand the principles and values that shape cultures and processes in particular ways. 

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse university community. 

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in process improvement and assessment. 

Preferred Skills: 

Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar student information systems. 

Experience redesigning business processes in a higher education setting.
