As a member of the Internal Audit team, you’ll work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where your contributions will make a meaningful difference in our clients’ lives and the organization’s success. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead critical IT audit initiatives, contribute to the organization’s success, and grow as a leader in a challenging and rewarding environment.

How you’ll succeed

Develop the annual IT audit plan: Lead the creation of the annual IT audit plan, including conducting the annual risk assessment to identify and prioritize key areas of focus.

Manage a portfolio of audit entities: Oversee a portfolio of information technology audit entities and related activities, including managing staff, scheduling, and coordinating with stakeholders/clients to ensure the timely and effective completion of the IT audit assurance plan.

Oversee IT audit programs: Supervise the development of IT audit programs and testing procedures that are aligned with identified risks and test objectives.

Ensure audit engagement quality: Ensure the quality of audit engagements by adhering to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards) and the Internal Audit Department’s policies and standards.

Lead and mentor teams: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to audit staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with senior management and other stakeholders to communicate audit findings, provide actionable recommendations, and support the organization’s risk management objectives.

Who you are

You can demonstrate a minimum of 10+ years of experience managing complex technology infrastructure and cybersecurity audit portfolios, preferably within large U.S. financial institutions, banks, or large foreign financial institutions. Extensive experience in validating regulatory issues and providing strategic insights to senior management on risk and control matters.

You have Proven track record of leading and managing audit teams, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

You have deep understanding of the technology stack, including: Network Layer: Firewalls, routers, switches, and network protocols. Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, and other enterprise platforms. Middleware and Databases: Application servers, APIs, and database management systems. Application Layer: Web applications, mobile applications, and cloud-based solutions. Strong knowledge of technology and cybersecurity frameworks, including: NIST SP800-53, FFIEC IT Handbooks, FFIEC Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Mitre ATT&CK Framework,Kill Chain Concept.

You have a Bachelor’s degree in preferably in a technology-related field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity and a professional designation (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CPA) or equivalent business experience.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $1500,000 - $180,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
