Our mission is to protect and enhance organizational value by providing independent, objective, risk-based assurance, advisory services and to influence the way the company manages risk. Our assurance and risk professionals have diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. Our audit teams align to key risk areas and business units to ensure IAG can provide comprehensive and risk-based audit coverage. In addition, IAG has a Professional Practices group responsible for managing audit operations, quality, and standards; regulatory relations; reporting; training and professional development; and key internal capabilities and technologies. How will you make an impact in this role? We are seeking an Audit Manager who is passionate about Consumer Banking. In this role, you will review and assess the effectiveness of the processes and controls supporting the American Express deposit products. About the Team: Consumer Banking provides the American Express suite of deposit products, which consists of Amex Savings and Rewards Checking, and management of supporting partner relationships and third-party vendors. The Consumer Banking audit team is responsible for conducting risk-based assurance and advisory reviews of the deposit products. As a key member of the of the audit team, you will provide Consumer Banking Subject Matter Expert (SME) support across the audit function, while also building relationships across the 1st and 2nd lines of defense. Key Responsibilities: + Execute audit lifecycle responsibilities in accordance with American Express’ Internal Audit Methodology, internal policies and standards, and regulatory expectations, within stated budget and timelines. + Present audit overviews and results to senior management, supported by sound awareness of portfolio risks, dependencies, potential control gap impacts and emerging risks in a highly professional and proficient manner. + Proactively manage audit execution, including coaching, supervising and mentoring new and junior staff. + Contribute to the development and periodic reviews of analytic control testing and ad hoc analytics, to drive timely risk insights, testing efficiencies and increased audit coverage. + Validate management’s corrective action plans to address business-identified issues, audit findings and regulatory remediations. + Execute continuous business monitoring of the portfolio, with an external perspective and an enterprise mindset, via periodic business meetings and analytic report reviews, to assess product performance, management oversight, identify emerging risks, etc. + Adapt quickly to unstructured assignments, and simultaneous ad hoc projects of varied complexity, while consistently delivering with quality and professionalism. + Quickly develop a strong understanding of American Express' business model, products, services, and organizational units. + Maintain audit proficiency through ongoing professional development, including data analytics literacy skills, technology, banking best practices and regulatory expectations. **Minimum Qualifications:** + 3 years of relevant audit experience in financial services or consulting. + Understanding of regulatory, accounting, and financial industry best practices relevant to the business, including technology and data implications. + Knowledge and experience in applying control theory and professional auditing practices throughout the audit lifecycle and special reviews. + Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver audit deliverables with quality, and actionable value-add feedback to management on potential control issues, opportunity areas and deficiency solutions. + Proven ability to lead and manage multiple projects, which accepting and providing developmental feedback across deliverables. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Consumer banking experience, including an understanding of related banking products, services, features, economics, and key regulations + Degree in accounting, finance, business, or another related field. + Relevant audit and professional certifications (e.g., Certified Public Accountant, (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), etc. + Effectively works independently, within the team and across various teams in a fast-paced environment to drive business results, utilizing sound project management skills, employing creative thinking, and the ability to work on competing priorities. + Ability to break-down complex problems into components, solve utilizing complex thought, process and risk/control knowledge. + Ability to effectively integrate business, operational, technological, data, and financial components in audit work. + Experience with data analytic tools, data visualization, key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs), information systems / technology, and scorecards / dashboards, etc. + Aptitude for working with data, interpreting results, business intelligence and analytic best practices. + Communicate data analysis, issue identification and control recommendations with professionalism, transparency and integrity. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Microsoft Access, SQL, Power BI, Python, SAS, Hive and/or Spark. + Ability to proficiently utilize automated work papers, analytics and departmental tools. **Non-considerations for sponsorship** : Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions. **Qualifications** Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
