The anticipated salary range for this role is between $153,000.00 and $196,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees. **Role Description** The Data Analytics team within Internal Audit are the driving force in creating a data-forward progressive, future oriented Internal Audit Department permeated with continuous improvement spirit and operational excellence. The data analytics team perform advanced analytics in support of audit execution activities, providing in-depth, timely assessments of our firm’s control environment, delivering insights that drive change. The team are key in the delivery of ‘audit intelligence’, driving automation and embedding analytics and prediction into our audit operational practices to ensure that we are data-informed and data-led, optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of our department. **Role Objectives: Delivery** + Collaborate with Team Leads, Business Area Heads, and Audit Managers to enhance CM efforts, identifying KPIs and delivering automated trending and pro-active visualizations of the control environment. Designs and implements models that provide a future looking, predictive assessment of the control environment. + Deliver audit-agnostic analytical products that enables centralized oversight and audit execution in addition to enabling auditor access to firm-wide data that was not easily accessible before. + Leads the implementation of automated continuous audit capabilities, designing and delivering fully automated ‘always on’ analytical products that provide results of control testing to auditors in real-time, with audit results fully documented ready for review. + Actively partners with JRIA and business process owners to strategically acquire data, enabling always available data for delivery into an accessible environment for ongoing analysis and query. + Maintains DA delivery pipeline and performs prioritization in conjunction with audit technology operations team. **Role Objectives: Interpersonal** This individual is responsible for performing Data Analytics supporting the audit activities for one or more business units. In this capacity the role holder is responsible for an in-depth understanding of the business processes and data sources for the business units that they support, engaging with audit management to ensure the scheduling and prioritization of data analytics needs and executing analytical activities to deliver valued assurance to the audit team and our stakeholders. + Collaborates and coordinates with Audit Leaders to understand data analytics opportunities for planned audits, prioritizing and managing data analytics portfolio to ensure DA resources are best utilized. + Translates auditor requirements and business processes into the design, development and execution of data analytics solutions in support of audit delivery, with a focus on delivering repeatable and scalable solutions. + Drives strategic data sourcing and tooling projects to deliver new capabilities and tools in support of data science into the audit department, building use-cases, and repositories of data sources and re-usable data analytics products for the area of responsibility. + Build automation and dashboards in support of Continuous Monitoring, Continuous Auditing products, and the wider audit processes and audit transformation programs + Implement machine learning solutions to build efficiencies, insights, predictive and prescriptive analytics. **Role Objectives: Expertise** + Qualified candidates will have experience in data analytics and data science, preferably within audit, risk management or other ‘oversight’ functions within financial services. + Strong understanding of Risk Management and Internal Audit processes and standards + Expert in use of Analytical, Automation and Visualization tools and programming languages with proven track record of delivery of repeatable analytical solutions using these tools. **Qualifications and Skills** **Requirements** **Work Experience:** 7 - 10 years of experience in data science and/or analytics and automation within financial services. **Education: Required** BA/BS **Preferred** MBA/MA/MS Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics or other Analytical fields of study preferred. **Software/ Programming Languages:** Python, R, SQL, VBA Experience in the use of Analytical and automation tools and platforms including Alteryx, Databricks, Denodo, UiPath and Tableau. **Additional Requirements** D&I Commitment Responsible for fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, holding leaders accountable for creating an inclusive environment through awareness and practice of equity in recruiting, developing, and promoting diverse talent.
