The authorization coordinator is responsible for providing accurate and complete data input for precertification requests and for providing excellent customer service. This position is responsible for verifying insurance, and obtaining authorization as required by each insurance company, dependent upon the plan coverage for each patient.
The authorization coordinator acts a resource for referral sources, and works closely with branch staff to ensure adequate coordination and transition.
This role will be based in-office and will be eligible for a hybrid-remote schedule after a ramp up time of six months.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Responsibilities Provide specific details regarding a patient’s insurance benefits prior to admissionObtain appropriate authorizations specific to patient’s careProvide insurance company with all required information within contractual timelinesVerify insurance information and provide specific details of patient benefits in record; include deductible, out-of-pocket, co-pays, co-insurance, and amounts met, as well as in- and out-of-network benefitsVerify secondary insurances if primary insurance is not covered 100%Assist with in-network agencies if insurance is out-of-networkVerify Medicare eligibility and ensure accuracy of Medicare number in the patient record Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of college or professional school is preferred. One year of third party eligibility verification experience is preferred. One year experience in insurance authorizations is preferred.
