Autism Counselor - Psychiatry Child/Adol Parma

Shift: 8AM-5PM

Summary:
Independently provides mental health evaluations and treatments for patients in the autism assessment clinic for patients transitioning life phases. May provide mental health services at an off-campus location(s) based on the assigned area (i.e. in schools, other community settings., etc.). Performs mental health evaluations along with assessment for autism and other developmental disabilities, individual psychotherapy treatment, group therapy/counseling sessions, and crisis intervention services. Contributes to preparations for autism assessment and treatment. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Required: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other Behavioral Health-related field of study from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or another similar accrediting body. Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT). Post-Masters experience working with patients as a Clinical Social Worker or Counselor in the field of autism and developmental disabilities. Experience with evidence-based behavioral health interventions Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision (LISW-S) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision (LPCC-S). Experience working within interdisciplinary teams. Experience with therapeutic interventions and treatment planning. Experience with Trauma interventions. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. May need to lift to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Apply
