Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

 

Role Purpose:

The Auto Futures Program Manager will personally lead a team of highly skilled technical, commercial, and manufacturing SMEs to create new businesses for Corning as the leader of Auto Futures portfolio Innovation Program(s). They will manage the program according to Corning’s New Growth Innovation process including establishing and managing budgets and objectives that enable an attractive business for Corning. Recruiting and growing the team necessary to deliver the objectives. Guiding the teams to execute all key commercial, technology, product development, business development, and manufacturing deliverables, including project plans of record, learning plans, sampling strategies, manufacturing processes selection, product specifications, cost estimates, quality architectures, etc.  Ultimately they will lead the team to produce and sell a first of a kind Corning product for an exciting new automotive application.

 

Requirements:

10+ years prior work in techno-commercial functions including business analysis, business development, commercial technology, innovation program management, engineering, development, etc. Bachelor’s Degree in technical field Established team manager in a Technical Development organization Hands-on experience developing new products and processes and implementing in production Strong communication skills to coordinate and reach alignment across functional boundaries Manage through significant degrees of complexity and ambiguity

 

Desired:

Masters Degree, MBA and/or PHD Strong analytical skills and synthesis capability Participation in, or management of, multicultural and/or multi-geographic projects Experience across the innovation cycle (i.e., early and late stage) Ability to navigate across Corning's management network

 

Responsibilities:

Establish cross-business/functional team including Emerging Innovations Group, Auto Market Access Platform, Corning Process and Product Development, and other relevant Corning businesses Develop and monitor project scorecard, budget, and schedule Define communication and reporting schedule with Auto Futures and Emerging Innovations Group management Identify team capability and resource gaps and recommend plans to close Exercise technical judgment and provide recommendations to changes in Auto Futures portfolio (advance, accelerate, add, drop projects) Define, as appropriate, detailed manufacturing implementation and ramp up plans – will likely require cross-Corning business collaboration

The range for this position is  $183,144.00   -  $251,823.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
