Job Description

We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading customer architectural and mechanical plans and using CAD software to create accurate drawings for customer and manufacturing processes. These drawings will be based on designs and sketches provided by engineers or more experienced staff. The drafter must be capable of understanding customer requirements in the form of quotations and specifications and have a solid working knowledge of drafting fundamentals, including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, scaling, and both English and metric units of measure. The role also involves checking dimensions of parts, documenting materials to be used, and verifying the form, fit, and function of parts in assemblies.

ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret customer architectural and mechanical plans.Use CAD software to create precise drawings for customer and manufacturing processes.Produce drawings based on designs and sketches from engineers or more experienced staff.Understand and incorporate customer requirements from quotations and specifications.Apply drafting fundamentals, including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, and scaling.Work with both English and metric units of measure.Check dimensions of parts, document materials to be used, and verify form, fit, and function of parts in assemblies.Follow directions and learn the company's drafting standards.Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines, and various building materials.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCADExperience in drafting and CAD designAbility to read and interpret architectural and mechanical plansKnowledge of drafting fundamentals including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, and scalingFamiliarity with English and metric units of measureAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with RevitKnowledge of sheet metal, blueprint reading, and architectureSkills in 2D AutoCAD and 2D designExperience in mechanical designFamiliarity with dampers and louversWork Environment

The work environment is collaborative, involving close interaction with engineers and experienced staff. You will use advanced CAD software and other drafting tools to create detailed and accurate drawings. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently while following established drafting standards.
