AutoCAD Fire Alarm Technician
Description We are on the search for an AutoCAD Fire Alarm Technician to be a part of our team. The role is based in Pleasanton, California. As an AutoCAD Fire Alarm Technician, you will be tasked with designing, drafting, and modifying fire alarm systems in compliance with relevant standards and codes. Responsibilities: • Design and draft fire alarm systems for a variety of buildings including commercial, educational, industrial, and multi-occupant residential properties. • Ensure fire alarm designs are in compliance with NFPA 72/CFC 907 and local AHJ requirements. • Modify DWG files using your AutoCAD skills, including understanding AutoCAD blocks & layers, linking XREFs, and file management. • Work collaboratively with designers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure system design meets project specifications and code requirements. • Maintain a high level of attention to detail in your work, ensuring accuracy in drawings and adherence to code requirements. • Use your knowledge of electrical power requirements, circuiting, and mechanical system integration to read Mechanical, Electrical, & Fire Sprinkler drawings and place Fire Alarm devices correctly. • Utilize your problem-solving skills to revise a design based on discovered field conditions or required as-built changes. • Communicate effectively, explaining technical concepts to project managers and field technicians. • Manage your time effectively to meet deadlines for submittals and project schedules. Project Experience: Prior experience working on projects requiring fire alarm design for compliance and permitting with an AHJ or DSA. Team Collaboration: Ability to work with other designers, project managers, & field technicians to ensure system design meets both project specifications and code requirements. Requirements 3+ years of experience in AutoCAD Experience in creating fire alarm system layouts and detailed drawings. Past experience collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance with local codes.
