Ultra Sonobuoy Systems is hiring a Test Technician for our production test team! The Test Technician in this role will primarily serve as a technician for the Test Stations used on our product lines. The person in this role will also work on other production and engineering projects as directed. The Test Technician will collaborate with electrical engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve production and development product electrical and/or operational problems or issues.

Ultra is building a second shift to continue to meet the demands of our global customers, join us as we continue to grow to keep the world safe!

Production Hours are Monday to Thursday 5pm to 3:30am tentatively

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for documenting, repairing, and assembly of electrical and electronic systems according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principlesUtilize hand tools, electrical/mechanical items, schematics and measuring instruments.

Required Skills:

Minimum BS Technology degree with 4 + years experience 4+ years proficiency in the use of digital test meters, oscilloscopes, RF Instrumentation, analog/digital test equipment, product firmware/software installation, cable construction.4+ years proficiency in troubleshooting electronics and electro-mechanical systems down to the component level.4+ years of experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.4+ years experience in soldering techniques involving through-hole and fine pitch SMT components.Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.  Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.

Desired Skills:

Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.Strong writing skills for generating test box wiring and construction diagrams, compiling lab notes and manuals, and other required activity support documents.Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio.Willing to follow written and verbal work instructions.Willing to draw or modify diagrams and assist in writing product or design specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of various electronics units.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Normal finger dexterity, and normal color vision.Candidate must be capable of occasional lifting of 40 pounds, waist high, with no assistance.
