Job Title
Automated Production Operator SrUtilizing manual and automated equipment, processes raw materials into high-quality ceramic powders for use in producing finished goods. Automation systems are highly process integrated and aligned to varied and complex production processes. Applies material and process knowledge to support continuous improvement.Roles & Responsibilities:
Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) procedures as required. Identify opportunities for safety improvements.Performs startups, shutdowns and product mix changes independently across complex or highly automated production processes.Identify root cause of technical problems and provide input for and implementation of solutionsPerforms preventative maintenance on machines within specified department or production process. May provide input for maintenance personnel on preventative actionsWork instructions are often complex and may require interpretation and application of special instructions in the preparation of ceramic material.Applies manufacturing principles and may provide recommendations for best practices as the method to most effectively complete their work.Work closely with other operators and leadership to share information for production continuity between shifts, process steps or departmentsPerform in-process testing for assigned process area.Able to read and interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and perform appropriate corrective actions as directed by Engineering.May be required to complete training in order to work with and handle hazardous materials.Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move material to and from locations within the facility.Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.Maintain workspace cleanliness and follow appropriate 6S practices. May lead lean / 6S projects in designated areas.Assist in accurately tracking all inventory, supplies, and raw materials.May be required to train other employees on standard or routine processes.Systematically plan activities for efficient completion of activities within assigned process area.May be trained in one or more specialty areas (e.g. wastewater treatment, CDL licensed driver, etc.)Job Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredBasic reading and math skillsMust meet all training requirements as defined by departmentExperience:
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience or equivalentForklift experience strongly preferred1 year of experience operating and maintaining semi-automated machineryFunctional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Communication: Shares information, ideas, feelings, and observations clearly, while also taking the time to listen and respond to others.Technology Use: Ability and willingness to learn and navigate various devices and software programs including touchscreen technology.Mechanical Aptitude: Intermediate mechanical aptitude including use of hand and power tools and preventative maintenance.Detail Oriented: Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions. Consistently completes tasks with precision by identifying relevant aspects crucial to achieving high-quality outcomes.Time Management: Prioritizes and plans tasks to achieve goals and uses time effectively to meet set targets.Data Fluency: Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) principles.Position Specific Physical Requirements
