What You’ll Do

As a Automatic Press Operator, you’ll be part of our Pressroom team located in Willard, Ohio. You’ll get to:

Complete production activities in the Press Room, including:Operation of automatic presses, cranes, lift trucks, and any other auxiliary equipmentOperation and adjustment of feeding and handling equipment (e.g. coil cradle, coil leveling)Complete changeover jobs: setup of blanking dies, progressive dies, and transfer dies in a pressVisual inspection of both in-process and finished partsUse of appropriate tools and fixtures to check partsOperate other production equipment, such as manual presses, based on the needs of the departmentStacking of parts as needed Understand and ensure the safe operation of the presses, lift trucks, and other similar equipmentAbide by all SBD Willard safety policiesConduct material handling tasks as neededFollow all applicable ISO standards & procedures to ensure quality standards are metRecognize concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvementMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerform departmental tasks as assigned by the Stamping Supervisor or Group Leader

High School Diploma or GEDExperience with die setting is preferredAbility to pass all certifications required for the positionMust have a valid lift truck operators license or successfully complete lift truck trainingTroubleshooting and problem solving skillsWilling to work independently or with a groupAbility to learn to operate an automatic press, setup dies, and changeover jobsEffective verbal and written communication skillsMust be able read and comprehend instructionsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs.Able to work overtime as needed
