Automation and Tooling Engineer

You will:

- We will provide you opportunity to become Automation and Tooling Engineer, Subject matter expert in specific Automation, Fault, Configuration Management, Performance or Packet Analyzer Tools during it’s specific lifecycle phase:
- Automation Tools are Morgan Stanley developed / integrated Testing Automation Frameworks for high added value engineering activities
- Configuration Management Tools are either Vendor or Developed Utilities / Scripts that entering to the network devices through CLI / API methods, discovering the devices and collecting diagnostics / execute specific commands.
- Fault and Performance Management Tools are Alerting / Performance Management Tools, that are mainly Vendor Products to discover, poll the network devices or receiving SNMP traps / alerts, telemetry information or syslog message
- Packet Analyzers are specific Network Monitoring tools that capturing network traffic data for further inspection about core infrastructure or application performance measurement.
- Ownership during end-to-end lifecycle of Tools - From Proof of Concept -> Pilot -> Deployment / Production -> Regular Maintenance -> Decommission
- Review and Interoperability Testing of new Versions of Automation Utilities Tools, testing against underlying Enterprise Infrastructure elements compatibility
- Validate network devices against Automation Utilities Tools - check Monitoring, Configuration gathering functions and to make sure the network devices and components modelled properly also in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Create / Maintain Scripts / Utilities for Tools Integrations / Certification / Maintenance
- Deployment of Tools / Utilities to Managed, HA and Geo-Redundant Data Centres
- Manage Operations of Tools
- Act as team representative for regular scheduled network management review meetings
- Provide coordination and act as a team interface between Network Engineering, Network Operations and Automation / Tooling Teams.
- Facilitate and coordinate work with external vendors for tooling regarding bugs / updates and upgrades
- Participate in network management design and peer reviews

You have:

- Basic scripting experience is required in Python / other scripting languages are also welcome
- Basic understanding of Linux Operating system
- Basic understanding of telecommunication devices / components (for example routers or switches or voice components.
- Understanding of network management protocols, concepts (SNMP, Syslog, SSH, API or AAA), basic understanding enterprise infrastructure services (NTP, DNS, LDAP)
- Experience with Agile/DevOps network automation workflows

The Network Automation and Tooling Team works on multiple products and projects in a global organization to facilitate the work of network operations and to improve the stability of the Firm’s global data and voice network. The team's responsibility includes Engineering, Integration, Development and Operations of Network Configuration Management, Network Monitoring, Network Security and Network Packet Inspection Tools across both Vendor Made Solutions (Cisco / IBM / Redhat / OpenText / Broadcom / cPacket / Corvil) and many in-house developments. The Network Automation and Tooling Team has a requirement for a full-time member to assist their global team in the Budapest office.
