Job Title: Automation Business Development Leader
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Market Analysis and Strategy: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the building automation and controls field. Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals and strengths. Develop and implement effective business development strategies to expand market share and generate new revenue streams. Account Management and Support: Travel to branch offices as necessary. Collaborate closely with account managers, estimators, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution. Provide guidance and support on technical and commercial aspects of projects. Help foster strong relationships with clients and partners to build long-term partnerships. Business Development and Sales: Actively seek out and pursue new business opportunities, including national accounts and projects in various geographic regions. Assist in job walks and scope definition for large key opportunities in all branch offices. Work with local offices to develop and present compelling proposals and presentations to clients. Help negotiate contracts and close deals to maximize profitability. Innovation and Technology: Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency and create innovative solutions. Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. Help train members of our sales team to be more strategic with technical opportunities. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members on technical and commercial challenges.Job Specifications (incl. Proven track record in business development, sales, or project management within the automation industry. Strong technical understanding of building automation and controls systems. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A willingness to travel as necessary, to support all our branch offices.
