Team or Function Overview

We are looking for a technically savvy Controls Specialist who will be responsible for electrical safety and training, serve as a key problem solver for the plant’s control systems, and act as a lead for other instrumentation and electrical personnel. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is technically curious and demonstrates superior written and verbal communication skills. You will work closely with the Senior Controls Specialist and Plant Engineer.

Summary

Perform analysis, detailed design (including documentation), capital request preparation, installation, start-up/checkout/debugging, and cost control of assigned projects.

● Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and equipment modification.

● Participate in process improvement efforts in support of plant goals.

● Monitor plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness.

● Maintain all logic and PLC programs, install switches, and perform maintenance on the network as needed.

Essential Duties

Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees.

● Manage contractors and maintenance staff during project installations.

● Create electrical training programs for electrical, instrument, and mechanical teams to stay abreast of federal, state and local regulations.

● Partner with Senior Controls Specialist to develop the five-year capital planning and the annual electrical operating budget.

Under This Roof, We Require

● A High School Diploma coupled with two to five years of demonstrated experience in an industrial continuous process atmosphere.

● Demonstrated process control experience in defining, designing, installing and maintaining control logic systems and equipment.

● Willingness to assume roles of team leader and team member when necessary.

● Advanced demonstrated communication skills.

● Ability to work in the U.S. without current/future need for GAFMC visa sponsorship.

Under This Roof, We Also Value

● Associates or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics. Demonstrated experience with SQL.
