Job Description
The Automation Engineer will be well-versed in control systems, with experience in industrial control panels and manufacturing equipment. This role requires working in a team environment to take a project from start to finish, including participating in engineering release meetings and communicating with customers to understand their needs. The Automation Engineer will design, build, program, commission, and hand off the finished automation system.
ResponsibilitiesProficient in Rockwell Automation software (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE, and RSLinx).Specify components and design industrial control panels.Ensure compliance with regulatory and approval agency requirements (UL508A, NEC, etc.).Possess Mitsubishi PLC and HMI programming skills.Utilize AutoCAD Electrical experience.Experience with industrial refrigeration systems is a plus.Develop programming that meets customer specifications with attention to detail.Design and specify electrical hardware for industrial control panels.Design and program sophisticated control systems.Simulate, test, and debug control systems in-house.Install and startup systems at the end-user’s facility.Provide continuing system technical support over the phone or on-site.Essential SkillsRockwell Automation software: 5 years (Preferred)Project management on control system integration: 5 years (Preferred)Compliance with regulatory and approval agency requirements: 5 years (Preferred)AutoCAD Electrical: 3 years (Preferred)Mitsubishi PLC and HMI programming skills: 3 years (Preferred)Project engineering on control system integration projects: 5 years (Preferred)Additional Skills & QualificationsApplicable Engineering Degree or five years of project engineering and/or project management experience on control system integration projectsGood oral and written communication skillsStrong electrical knowledge (wiring of control panels)Ability to troubleshoot, replace, and work on new programsWillingness to travel to client sitesExperience with field service, PLC programming, repair, service, installation, and commissioningWork Environment
The position is based in a new office in Midland, TX. Initial work will be conducted at the company office for the first six months. During implementation, travel to Midland will be required. Candidates must be willing to travel.
