Job Description
We are seeking an experienced engineer in robotics, controls, and automation. This role involves setting up and troubleshooting issues with robotics in the Stamping and Truck Final areas. The primary focus will be on robotics and automation, and the candidate must be able to independently troubleshoot equipment and continuously evaluate it for quality and delivery improvements.
ResponsibilitiesIndependently troubleshoot robotics and automation equipment (Durr, Fanuc, PLC5, Control Logix).Evaluate equipment continuously for quality and delivery improvements.Coordinate the automation team for current and future actions.Set up, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing automation.Program new robotic functions and tasks along with debugging equipment when it goes down.Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems.Update program backups for automation.Program new installations of paint tooling and conveyor systems.Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements.Coordinate automation campaigns.Essential SkillsExperience with Rockwell Allen Bradley PLC5 and Control Logix software.Fanuc robot experience.Ability to program from scratch.Ability to edit and troubleshoot existing programming.2+ years of automation experience in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering - preferred but not required.Experience in electrical, robotics and manufacturing, PLC programming, HMI, and design.Experience with Rockwell and RSLogix.Union experience.Work Environment
The offices are climate controlled, but the floor is not and can get hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The environment is a typical automotive plant, which is fast-paced and stressful. The culture is 'work hard, play hard' in a rough union environment. The candidate must be willing to get pulled in many directions and drop everything to work on a breakdown. You will work with other controls engineers and techs. Candidates must be open to all shifts and 50-60 hour work weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
